Numerica announces layoffs
Spokane Valley-based Numerica Credit Union will lay off 25 employees, or 3.5% of its workforce, as part of an internal restructuring.
The credit union says its financial position remains strong and all its branches will remain open with no disruption to services, according to a release.
Numerica has six branches spread across the Tri-Cities serving more than 21,000 of its members, according to the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business' Book of Lists. A company spokesperson declined to indicate whether any of the layoffs would affect Tri-City-based staff as the company continues to notify employees about the changes.
Citing “the evolving economic landscape and the changing needs of its members,” president and CEO Carla Cicero said the institution will assist its affected workers with a severance package and job placement services.
“We value the contribution of all our team members and deeply regret the need for these layoffs,” she said in a statement, adding, “As a member-owned credit union, we have a responsibility to adapt to the financial needs and preferences of our members.”
Numerica manages more than $5 billion in assets and has 175,000 members across central and eastern Washington and north Idaho.
