WSU Tri-Cities to help prepare next generation of Hanford site leaders

Washington State University Tri-Cities, the U.S. Department of Energy and Hanford site contractors are teaming up to prepare future Hanford site leaders. 

Called the One Hanford Leadership Academy, the program will provide six sessions throughout 2025 hosted by Cougar Tracks, WSU Tri-Cities’ continuing education program, according to a release. The academy will prepare individuals in mid-level management roles for challenges faced by C-suite executives. Six faculty members from WSU will individually lead each session. 

The academy began Jan. 9 with an orientation for 15 participants from the Hanford field office and Hanford contractors Bechtel National, Hanford Mission Integration Solutions, Central Plateau Cleanup Company, Navarro-ATL, Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure and Washington River Protection Solutions. 

“The One Hanford Leadership Academy is an opportunity to invest in the future of Hanford and the Tri-Cities region,” said Brian Stickney, deputy manager of the Hanford Field Office, in a release. “By partnering with WSU Tri-Cities and leveraging their academic excellence, we are equipping our next generation of leaders with skills and vision to advance progress in the One Hanford mission.”
