A longtime Kennewick Irrigation District engineer has been tapped to fill the vacant at-large seat on the Kennewick City Council.
Council members chose Jason McShane, 41, during a special meeting on Dec. 15. A total of 17 applicants were interviewed.
McShane, who'll be sworn in during the council meeting on Dec. 19, replaces Bill McKay, who abruptly stepped down in November. It's since come to light that McKay allegedly paid for sexual services at illicit massage parlors.
McShane will serve the remaining two years on the term and will have to run for election in 2025 to keep the seat.
