Columbia Basin Pediatrics has opened its new medical office at 404 Westcliffe Blvd. in Richland.
The move marks a milestone for the practice, allowing it to operate in its own building for the first time, which means no longer paying rent. It also brings the clinic full circle, as it started in Richland, moved to Pasco and is now back in Richland.
Pioneer 9 Properties built the 5,100-square-foot building, which features a one-level medical office with nine exam rooms, a procedure room, lab, two provider offices, five bathrooms, a manager’s office and staff break room.
The architecture integrates natural lighting, vibrant colors and playful design elements to ease anxiety and foster a sense of comfort for young patients and their families.
The design is modern with an open airy feel. It has a waterfall out front that flows toward the exam rooms for a relaxing, serene feel for patients. The clinic also plans to install solar panels.
The project cost $3.1 million, including the land.
Booth & Sons is the general contractor.
The building was designed by Milenko Kulasevic of Draftco Designs LLC in collaboration with Kyle Lepper of LPR Architects.
