A mini drone race and virtual demonstration will be held at the Richland Public Library from 10 a.m. to noon April 15.
The Atomic City Drone Club will have mini drones as well as larger more complex ones. The mini drones are plastic and small enough to fit in the palm of an adult’s hand. They will be raced inside at the Children’s Department where the area is more open and the shelves are lower. The larger drones will be on display outdoors.
Members of the drone club will talk about the technology and use of 3D printing to create replacement parts. They will also offer spectators the chance to be a virtual passenger on a drone, using a TV and specially-designed googles.
The Richland Public Library is at 955 Northgate Drive, on the corner of Swift Boulevard. For more information visit www.richland.lib.wa.us.
