Framatome, a global leader in nuclear technology with a manufacturing facility in Richland, had a good 2024.
The French company reported revenues equivalent to $4.9 billion last year, a roughly $650 million, or nearly 12%, jump from the prior year, according to a release, with its earnings growing by $25 million, or more than 4%, compared to that same time period.
“The execution of projects was well managed and adhered to contractual commitments,” the company said in a release. “Optimization of overhead costs and quality control continued. Despite ongoing supply chain tensions, production remained consistent with customer commitments.”
The company cited several new contracts and developments in several markets as contributing to the year’s successes. Part of the growth stems from “a significant increase in the volume of fuel deliveries in 2024 compared to 2023” in its North American market.
Framatome’s suite of work runs from nuclear design and engineering through the manufacture of components and fuel. It has 18,000 employees worldwide with facilities in France, Germany, China, the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom.
Framatome’s fuel production facility in Richland employes roughly 700 people. In 2024, the company received a 10-year contract from the U.S. Department of Energy to produce high-assay low-enriched uranium, or HALEU, fuel for advanced nuclear power reactors.
