The Port of Benton is gearing up for the multimillion-dollar building remodel that plays a key role in its intermodal facility – a place to connect and transfer goods from trains and trucks.
This Wallula intermodal facility soft-launched early this year with a shipment of about 300 tons of hay, which was trucked in and then transferred to railcars and moved via train to the Northwest Seaport Alliance’s Port of Tacoma.
A pair of cyberattacks in mid-June plunged car dealerships across North America into chaos – and some dealerships in the Tri-Cities were among those affected.
Improvements to the Connell rail interchange, built nearly 100 years ago, are necessary as the configuration is outdated and inefficient, officials said.
Numerous road projects are popping up or plugging along – from a high-profile bridge repainting effort to a highway intersection overhaul aimed at making way for development.
