B5 recently completed construction on the B5 Community Learning Center at 715 S. Jean St., Kennewick, near the Kennewick Boys & Girls Club.
The 4,300-square-foot building is one story and includes a warming kitchen and child care space.
The center has two fixed classrooms and a central space for larger activities and events. A moving partition can be used to create a third classroom.
A computer lab can double as a meeting space, and there is office space available.
The building will be used primarily as an educational/learning center serving refugees and immigrants in the community. It also will be a welcoming gathering space to create community and cross-cultural connections.
For the past 15 years, B5 has served the refugee community from an apartment in the area. The new building will increase the amount of space for programs.
Elite Construction + Development is the contractor for the $1.95 million project.
Archibald & Company Architects is the designer.
B5 plans a grand opening on May 15.
